I’ve seen a LOT of newborns over the years, and the one thing I still can’t get over is what a miracle they really are! The fact that just a week or so before they’re in the studio they were in their mama’s belly is so amazing. It’s why I’m aways excited when clients choose to capture the Maternity stage. It is a really special time, and I promise we’ll capture that pregnancy glow even if you don’t always feel it!
What’s even more special is when I’m the one chosen to get to document both the bump before meeting baby and the baby once it arrives, which was the case for this family. Mama requested water scenery for her Maternity session, but it’s always colder by Lake Michigan etc. so we decided to go to a park with a beautiful quarry instead. It helped with the cold November temperatures and offered a variety of looks! But oh, that wind was intense that day! Over the years I’ve learned to embrace the elements such as wind, though. It makes for great hair movement and added interest to photos… trust me. The sunset came out, we embraced the wind, and you probably can’t even tell it was a cold day with how much this mama was glowing!
The glowing didn’t stop there — take a peak at their gorgeous new baby girl, and their first family photos below!
